Performance

The performance of the 2020 Encore isn’t its strong feature.  Most trim levels have a turbocharged 1.4-liter four-cylinder engine that delivers 138 horsepower.  You’ll enjoy a slightly more powerful 153-horsepower motor if you decide on the Sport Touring trim.

However, the fuel efficiency of the Encore makes up for what it loses in acceleration and speed.  The standard engine gets an EPA-assessed 28/34 city/highway miles per gallon.  Every single trim level has an automatic transmission and front wheel drive with an all-wheel drive which is an option and available at an additional cost.

Interior

Its most unique features are integrated into the interior of the Buick Encore.  This gives it an exceptionally high-quality, quiet, and well-designed interior.  It might not have the most spacious interior, but it is among the most well-equipped subcompact SUVs.

The base model has the following cutting edge standard features:

  • Buick’s IntelliLink infotainment system
  • USB port
  • OnStar with 4G LTE
  • Bluetooth
  • Power-adjustable driver’s seat
  • Built-in Wi-Fi hot spot.

Upgraded features available on higher trim levels include:

  • remote start
  • power-adjustable passenger seat
  • dual-zone automatic climate control
  • leather upholstery
  • seven-speaker Bose audio system
  • Sunroof,
  • Navigation
  • Heated front seats
  • Steering wheel.

The tech features in the Encore’s high-class cabin features are automatic and the controls are visually attractive.  Especially when combined with the interior wood and metal trim.

Advantages And Disadvantages

In addition to its exceptional handling and high crash test scores, the Buick Encore 2020 is a great option for its luxurious, upscale interior.  It’s a great value, with best in class reliability scores from J.D. Power and Associates.

Some of its competition boasts more cargo and passenger space than the Encore, while others are more notable for their performance.  In addition, advanced safety features such (i.e. automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, and lane keep assist) are currently unavailable in the 2020 Encore.

Safety Features

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration awarded the 2020 Encore a five-star overall rating for performing well in crash tests.  The Insurance Institute on Highway Safety also named it a Top Safety Pick+. Standard  trim levels come equipped with a rear view camera, while driver-assist technologies like rear cross traffic alert and blind zone alert are added in the convenience group trim.  The Premium group expands this functionality with forward collision alert, lane departure warning, and front and rear parking sensors.

The 2020 Buick Envlave is a great subcompact SUV.  If you are still wondering if it is the right car for you, You should head over to a Buick dealer to learn more about it and take it for a test drive.
