A Look Inside The Infiniti Sedan Lineup
The Infinity Sedan lineup has a car for every driver. The Q50 is suitable for families with its elegance and affordability. The Q70 is a midsize luxury sedan loaded with extra performance. The Q70L is a sleeker version with more interior space. The Q60 is the sporty car and the leader of the pack. Here is a breakdown of the Infiniti’s 2020 luxury car lineup.
The Infiniti Q50
The Q50 is the smallest car on the lnfiniti lineup. The Q50 is a compact sedan that is credited with perfect safety scores, powerful engine options, and high reliability. Customizing the Q50 to your taste is made easy with the availability of several trims to choose from. The new Sports trim on the 3.0 model is one of the trims.
The base trim of the 2020 Q50 yields 208 horsepower from a turbo four-cylinder. There are stronger options to choose from for those who want more performance. There are two twin-turbocharged V6 engines with one yielding 300 horsepower and the other raising it to 400 horsepower. The Q50 however, has low fuel efficiency with its base model getting a return of 23 MPG in the city and 31 MPG on the freeway. The hybrid version is a great choice for drivers mindful of fuel cost and it comes with a 350 horsepower electric motor.
The seats in the Q50 are less comfy and supportive compared to other models in its class. It, however, offers plenty of rear-seat legroom and a 13.5 cubic feet of cargo space. In terms of technology, the Q50 is fitted with dual touchscreens with intuitive operating systems, but they don’t have the latest connectivity features such as the Apple Play. Other notable features include dual-zone automatic climate control, push-button start, a rear view camera, HD and satellite radio, Bluetooth and two USB ports.
For all the Q50 lacks in performance, it makes up for in safety. The 2020 Infiniti QX50 has a five-star safety rating from the National Highway and Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and also ranks highest in rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), passing four out of five crash test categories.
The Infiniti Q70
The Infiniti Q70 is classified as a midsize Luxury sedan. It has a large interior, an extensive list of features and options of powerful engines to pick from. But just like the Q50, the Q70 also lacks the latest technology features and modern styling provided by its rivals.
The Q70 comes with soft, comfortable seats and an extensive list of standard features including Bluetooth and USB connectivity, voice recognition, satellite radio, a 7-inch display, heated front seats, navigation, a moon roof, and a 10-speaker Bose audio system. It also comes with 14.9 cubic feet of cargo space. The Infiniti Q70 comes fitted with great safety features including a rear view camera that has a 360-degree monitor with moving object detection and front and rear sonar detectors.
The 2020 Infiniti Q70 offers three powerful engines to choose from. There is a 420 horsepower V8, a 330 horsepower V6, or a v6 hybrid that yields 360 horsepower. The fuel efficiency of the base engine is set at 18 mpg in the city and 24 mpg on the highway, the v8 gets 16 mpg in the city and 24 mpg on the highway. The hybrid, however, gets as high as 28 mpg in the city and 33 mpg on the freeway. Although the Q70 isn’t well equipped with standard active safety features, it has outstanding crash test scores from the IIHS.
The Infiniti Q70L
The Infiniti Q70L is an improved version of the Q70, with a larger cabin design. It has a longer wheelbase which gives rear-seat passengers increased leg room of about six inches. Compared to the Q70, the Q70L has been updated with more exterior features including five additional LED lights, redesigned daytime running lights, a split rear bumper, and a chrome trim. The interior is fitted with silver powder wood veneers, reclining rear seats, leather interior upholstery, independent rear entertainment system and redesigned noise isolation and shock absorption for a pleasant, quiet driving experience. The Q70L is fitted with new active safety features like the backup collision intervention, forward collision warning and a 360-degree around view monitor.
The Infiniti Q60 Coupe
The 2020 Infiniti Q60 Coupe is completely redesigned for drivers who want a luxury sports coupe with high performance. The Q60 Coupe combines modern styling with the latest technological features. There are five different Q60 trims to choose from, for those that like to customize their rides to their taste. But some drivers will be disappointed with its poor fuel efficiency and difficulty handling.
Despite being a two-door four-seater, the 2020 Q60 comes with a reasonable space for both passenger and cargo as compared to other cars in its class. For couples who love weekend getaways, the Q60 is a great choice as its front seats have good ergonomics and the trunk offers a reasonable space.
It has a modern and cutting-edge styling which includes special add-on features such as the optic fiber trim. While some people may have difficulties using the dual-screen infotainment system, some will complain about the use of analog knob controls. And the car isn’t smartphone-friendly as it does not have both the Apple CarPlay and Android Auto functionality which are standard features in many new vehicles. The Q60, however, comes standard with some nice features like the dual-zone automatic climate control, a dual-screen infotainment system, push-button start, eight-way power-adjustable front seats, Bluetooth connectivity, two USB ports and a six-speaker audio system with both HD and satellite radio.
The 2020 Infiniti Q60 comes standard with a rear view camera, but you have the option of adding extra features like the Blind Spot Monitoring, Lane Keep Assist, a 360-degree camera, front and rear parking sensors and forward collision warning.
The base model has a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine that yields 208 horsepower. There are also two extra powerful engines suited for those who are choosing the Q60 for its sporty prowess. Both engines are twin-turbocharged with one yielding 300 horsepower and the other yielding 400 horsepower. A few reviewers have said that the Q60 is not as agile as expected for a sports car. But that can be managed with an upgrade to the optional adaptive suspension which offers three different drive modes; Standard, Sport and Sports Plus. The base engine gets 22 mpg in the city and 30 mpg on the highway.
